Vaccinations & Wellness Exams
Annual examinations are an important part of keeping your dog & cat healthy.  We are able to catch potential issues before they can become problematic.  We can also advise you on what vaccinations are most important for your pet's lifestyle.  We carry a full line of vaccines.

Internal medicine consultations
Having a sick pet can be very scary and we are here to help.  During your visit, we will discuss your pet's history and do a medical assessment by looking at your pet’s eyes, ears, and skin and checking his or her cardiovascular, neurological, gastrointestinal, and skeletal systems for any abnormalities. We will perform blood and/or urine tests as necessary to check your pet’s kidneys, liver, pancreas, and endocrine system, including the thyroid and adrenal glands. Based on your pet’s condition, we may recommend further diagnostic tests, such as radiography (x-rays), endoscopy (internal scoping), ultrasound, or biopsy.

If you’re concerned that something may be wrong with your pet, please call us to schedule a medical assessment. Depending on the symptoms, we may ask you to bring in your pet right away.
Dermatology
Itchy pets can be very frustrating.  Our doctors are experienced in treating a variety of different skin conditions.  We can often diagnose a skin problem by simply examining your pet. Some dermatologic diseases or conditions do require additional diagnostic procedures to ensure a correct diagnosis. Depending on your pet’s symptoms and the results of our physical exam, we may run blood work or perform a urinalysis, skin scraping, or biopsies.
Soft tissue & Orthopedic Surgery
Companion Animal Veterinary Clinic is equipped to provide both soft tissue and orthopedic surgical services.

We perform many types of soft tissue surgeries at our clinic. Soft tissue surgeries are those that are not associated with bone. Some of these procedure are considered elective such as spaying and neutering.  We are also equipped to provide more advanced surgical services such as abdominal exploratories, biopsies, reconstructive surgeries, cosmetic procedures, and foreign body retrieval to name a few.

We also provide a number of orthopedic surgeries.  We are able to treat a variety of conditions such as fractures, torn cruciate ligaments, luxating patellas, as well as various other needed orthopedic procedures.

Please schedule an appointment to help determine if your pet is a good candidate for one of these procedures.
aesculight co2 Surgical Laser
Our clinic is proud to offer the benefits of surgery with an Aesculight CO2 surgical laser.  Feel free to talk to our veterinarians to see if your pet is a good candidate for laser surgery.  This is an add-on option for most surgeries.

Benefits include the following:
  • Minimized Bleeding: As it cuts, the laser beam seals small blood vessels which drastically reduces bleeding. This provides better visibility that allows for shorter surgery times.  It also helps provide a better esthetic result with surgeries involving the eyes and nose.  In some cases, such as cyst removal, patients don't even require stitches.
  • Less Pain: The CO2 laser beam seals nerve endings and lymphatics, resulting in less post-operative swelling and pain. The patient experiences a far more comfortable post-operative recovery.
  • Reduced risk of infection: Sanitizing effect is one of the unique features of the CO2 laser beam. It efficiently destroys bacteria in its path (sanitizing effect). Also, CO2 laser surgery is performed in a non-contact mode – the laser tip does not touch the target tissue during surgery, which minimizes risk of infection even more.
  • Faster recovery time: Reduced risk of infection, less bleeding, pain and swelling, less time under anesthesia, often allow the patient a speedy recovery after the surgery and pets walk, eat, drink, or play much sooner than after conventional scalpel surgery.
Microchipping
We offer microchipping services to permanently identify your pet in the event your dog or cat should be lost or stolen. We recommend this for the security of your dog or cat.  A brochure of information will be sent home with the owner and the owner needs to register their pet on line  www.petlink.net or over the phone.
Dental Cleanings
Imagine what your mouth would feel like if you never brushed your teeth or went to the dentist. For many dogs and cats, this is a painful reality. According to the American Veterinary Dental Society, more than 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have dental disease by the age of 3. Dental (or periodontal) disease is the most frequently diagnosed health problem in pets. Dental disease can also affect other organs since bacteria can get into the bloodstream and spread the infection to the kidneys, liver, lungs and heart.

With each dental cleaning, our practice provides a thorough oral exam to evaluate your pet’s gums, teeth, tongue, and tonsils.  During the procedure, we clean and polish the teeth and remove any abscessed (infected) teeth.

Digital Radiographs (x-rays)
If your cat or dog would be in need of x-rays due to accident or illness, our hospital uses digital x-ray equipment which allow faster diagnosis of internal problems. We use our digital x-ray to diagnose fractures, broken bones, organ abnormalities, and possible foreign objects.
Nutrition Counseling
Choosing what to feed your pet can be very overwhelming.  Let us help determine what diet is best for your dog or cat.  We are also happy to create plans for overweight, underweight or allergic pets. We offer a wide variety of special prescription diets to suit all needs. We stock both iVet & Hill's Science Diet foods.
LiteCure Companion Animal therapy Laser
Picture
Laser therapy is the non-invasive use of laser energy to generate a photochemical response in damaged or dysfunctional tissue. Laser therapy can alleviate pain, reduce inflammation and accelerate recovery from a wide range of acute and chronic clinical conditions. As rehabilitation specialists know, the main goal of treatment for many when treating painful, debilitating conditions is to facilitate improved function and mobility. Laser therapy is a drug-free, surgery-free technique to help make that goal a reality.

Please contact us to today to set up a consultation and determine if this could be a beneficial option for your pet!
